As the founder of Veterinary Specialist Advice (VSA), attending the London Vet Show (LVS) 2024 was a milestone in our journey. It was an opportunity to share our mission, connect with the vibrant veterinary community, and showcase how we aim to make specialist advice and education more accessible to veterinarians and their patients.

Walking into the exhibition hall was both exhilarating and overwhelming. The energy was palpable, with professionals from every corner of the veterinary field coming together. Amongst the bustling stands and endless conversations, our booth stood out—not just because of the magician performing mind-bending tricks, but because of what we represented: an innovative approach to veterinary support through VSA and our educational platform, F.E.T.C.H.

F.E.T.C.H.: Empowering Veterinary Education

One of the most exciting parts of the event was introducing F.E.T.C.H. to attendees. F.E.T.C.H. (Forum for Educational Tools and Clinical Help) is designed exclusively for veterinary professionals, including vets and nurses, and also features a dedicated management stream. Our aim is to cover a practice’s needs comprehensively—a true 360° approach.

With resources like webinars, journal clubs, case discussions, and handouts, F.E.T.C.H. is built to empower practices with practical knowledge and tools that directly benefit their patients. Attendees were particularly enthusiastic about how F.E.T.C.H. complements VSA’s consultation services, blending clinical expertise with ongoing education to meet the dynamic needs of veterinary teams.

A Space for Connection

One of the highlights was the conversations. Veterinarians approached us with curiosity, sharing their challenges and seeking advice. From managing complex cases in general practice to navigating limited client budgets, it was clear that there is a real need for accessible, high-quality specialist support.

The magician at our stand wasn’t just a gimmick. Beyond the sleight of hand and illusions, the magic lay in creating a welcoming space where people felt encouraged to pause, engage, and learn about what we do. It turned out to be an icebreaker that made serious conversations feel approachable.

Lessons from LVS

Exhibiting at LVS wasn’t without its challenges. Preparing the stand—deciding on socket placements, lighting, and how to present VSA’s services—was a crash course in event planning! Yet every detail paid off. From the setup to the interactions, every moment taught me something valuable about communication, visibility, and how to convey our mission effectively.

One takeaway was the importance of standing out in a crowded space. Creativity, coupled with a clear message, made a significant difference. Having strong, concise materials that explained our services and F.E.T.C.H. offerings was crucial. Veterinarians are busy people, and being able to capture attention quickly was key.

Looking Ahead

The London Vet Show was not just an event—it was a reaffirmation of why VSA and F.E.T.C.H. exist. Veterinarians want support in making confident decisions for their patients, and pet owners want to feel they’re doing the best for their animals. LVS reminded me of the passion that fuels our profession and the innovative ways we can meet evolving needs.

Thank you to everyone who visited our stand, shared feedback, and supported us. Your enthusiasm inspires us to keep growing and expanding our services.

F.E.T.C.H. is still under construction, with much more to come. We’re excited about the future, and we can’t wait to share more resources to support veterinary teams. Watch this space—something incredible is on the horizon!

Kind regards,
Magda
