RVN

Amanda is a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) currently working in the ophthalmology department of a busy multidisciplinary referral hospital. She began her journey with a qualification in animal care, which led her to focus on veterinary nursing. Her experiences include volunteering in South Africa, where she cared for cheetahs and other native species. Amanda has worked in almost every role within a veterinary practice, including reception, kennel assistant, rehabilitation, and night work. After moving from first-opinion practice to referral, she rotated through various departments, gaining extensive knowledge of different disciplines. Amanda is deeply dedicated to her patients and strongly believes in a fear-free approach to care.

Outside of her professional life, Amanda was a national cheerleading champion and is a passionate rugby fan, proudly supporting Scotland. She enjoys traveling to incredible destinations with her partner, attending concerts, and spending time with family, friends, and her two rescue dachshunds, Rennie and Diddy.
